LITIGATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST Prestigious law firm is seeking a Litigation Support Specialist to work in a combination PARALEGAL and IT Litigation Support role within the firm.
General Requirements:
Knowledgeable and current with the following litigation support software and hardware:
* Trial Director
* Concordance
* PowerPoint
* Outlook (including PST importing and exporting)
* Electronic storage of files
* Projectors
* Laptops
* Screens
The success candidate will:
* Be responsible for staying abreast of changing technologies and being proactive
* Have strong interpersonal skills
* Have the ability to teach & train lawyers & paralegals on litigation software support programs
* Be flexible with scheduling, understanding that litigation support rarely involves predictable 9-5 scheduling
* Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high pressure environments
Day-to-Day Discovery Support – 3 main categories
I. Document review and management
* Use, explain, and (where necessary) integrate Concordance, Trial Director, PowerPoint, Outlook and other litigation support software
* Receive hard copy documents, image and import into Concordance or Outlook
* Receive electronic documents, import into Concordance or Outlook
* Receive emails and PST files, import into Concordance or Outlook
* Search, filter, and organize electronic documents according to keywords and fields
* Process hard drives full of files (email, video, photos, documents, etc.) into organized, reviewable format
II. Document production
* Prepare electronic and hard copy documents for production to opposing counsel
* Transfer documents from Concordance and Outlook onto CD, PDF, or hard copy for production
* Wipe meta-data before production
* Bates-number using electronic means
III. Deposition management
* Excerpt depositions
* Synch to video
* Import into and manipulate in Trial Director
In addition the candidate will be responsible for:
Trial Support (meaning support for presentations – at mediation, arbitration, trial, etc.)
* Fully support both the hardware and software needed for trial presentation (e.g., computers, projectors, screens, Smart Board, Elmo, etc.)
* Manipulate exhibits (even on the fly) within Trial Director and/or Power Point for use at presentations
* Bar-coding documents for use in Trial Director
* Prepare and present deposition excerpts at trial
* Prepare and present demonstrative exhibits, coordinating with outside vendors as needed
